This bridge is a one of a kind. As Wikipedia says, “...a through truss, double-deck vertical-lift bridge across the Willamette River…” meaning that the lower deck can be raised independently of the top deck. You have to see this in action, or better yet, experience it from the top deck. A trip to the bridge never disappoints and I’m always surprised by something. This time, it was the light and muted colors of the tracks, the ground and the structures.
