At about 10 in the morning, the light was soft, with the sun not too high yet. I parked in an area of downtown Portland that’s close to the waterfront, a grassy area with nice access to the river. I thought I’d walk over to the river and possibly walk to one of the bridges. Instead, I found these buildings so appealing. There was hardly anyone around and I found myself slowing down. Instead of trying to find the next great shot, I just wandered around. I had time, no rush. I could finally see all these trees and their shadows applied to the buildings and streets.
