Taking these photos was a kick. I felt so free that day. I kept getting drawn in by the shadows, repeating patterns and the light. I was part of a class field trip, and normally, I feel inhibited when I’m around other people. For this day, I would wander off, then rejoin the group, feeling comfortable on my own and with others around me as I was curious about my surroundings while taking these photographs. The field trip, part of a PCC class, Photographing Portland, took place near SE Water Ave, along the Willamette River near I-5 and OMSI.
